about the xtach:

The xTach was developed to provide a flexible tach instrument for racing applications. After going through two mechanical tachometers due to vibration failure, the xTach was born.

Providing a flexible display interface and RS232 communication, almost any combination of LED driven display or logging is possible.

The xTach It is not intended to be a polished turnkey solution, but rather to serve as a good foundation for those with some mechanical skills and desire a custom solution. If you're in doubt, contact me.

We can customize a display panel, digital bargraph, staged LED shift lights - all specific to your application. Any color and size combination you'd like is possible. Contact us for a quote. Our sample display is provided as a starting point.

Optoisolated Ignition Pickup
Protected input for direct wiring to ignition output signals or other tachometer signal sources. Compatible with most ignition types and sources.

Integrated display driver
4 digit LED display and 8 digit LED bargraph - adjustible to 5 digit/16 LED. Select the 7 segment color and size right for your application. Software controlled brightness levels allow day/night settings at the touch of a button.

3 programmable RPM triggers
Configure up to three shift points for LEDs, lights, or other alerts.

Driver input
High RPM recall, High RPM clear, and High/Low brightness toggle.

RS-232 Serial Computer Interface
Log your RPM performance to a notebook or other handheld device, Tachometer shift points & engine parameters easily configured via terminal program.

Open design, schematic & firmware
Easy to customize your tach to special applications or cramped instrument panels.
